Clwyd West MS Darren Millar has welcomed news that work on a scheme which will save residents money on their energy bills is set to commence in Llysfaen in the next few weeks.
The Arbed scheme, which aims to install appropriate energy efficiency measures in properties across Wales to help people who are struggling to effectively heat their home, has been approved and is set to go in Llysfaen.
The scheme will initially comprise 100 homes which have now been assessed as needing a combination of insulation, electric heating, and solar PV measures, with further homes set to benefit in the future.
Darren, who last year held an online community meeting to promote the scheme to residents in Llysfaen, is delighted that the scheme has progressed so well and that residents will soon be benefitting from the energy efficiency measures.
He said:
“Despite all the challenges that the pandemic has thrown at us, this scheme has made fantastic progress and I am pleased that residents in Llysfaen will soon by reaping the rewards.
“In these difficult times, a great many people are struggling to pay for heating. This scheme is fully funded and will cut people’s heating bills through measures such as insulation, energy efficiency measures renewable technologies.
“It is great that 100 homes are to initially benefit, with hopes that 150 or more will be treated in Llysfaen in total. I look forward to visiting to view progress as soon as I am able.”
Arbed are also developing a scheme in Pensarn and a small area of Belgrano.
Darren added:
“It is thought that the Pensarn and Belgrano scheme could deliver significant benefits to up to 180 householders in this area and I urge anyone who has not already booked an assessment to do so as quickly as possible.”
