Responding to the Welsh Government’s announcement of a Wales-wide lockdown starting on the 23rd October, Clwyd West MS Darren Millar said:
“These are significant restrictions which will have a huge impact on people's lives and livelihoods.
"The Welsh Government has a duty to demonstrate that it's actions are proportionate and necessary but, in spite of repeated requests, it has failed to publish sufficient evidence to show a Wales-wide lockdown meets those tests.
"Businesses across North Wales are already on their knees and many jobs are hanging by a thread; for many these restrictions will be the straw that breaks the camel's back.
"It appears to me that this decision has not been thought through and is likely to cause a lot of pain for very little gain.”
