Commenting on the news that the Oxford University/AstraZeneca vaccine has been approved for use in the UK, Clwyd West MS Darren Millar said: 

“This new vaccine, which is being manufactured in Wrexham, offers real hope to people across North Wales, the UK and the wider world. 

“There has been a great deal of concern about the pace of the rollout of vaccines in North Wales in recent weeks but, with the Oxford vaccine being much easier to transport and store than others, there can now be no excuses for us falling behind.

“The Welsh Government must now ramp up the vaccine rollout, make sure that North Wales gets its fair share of doses, and ensure that those at highest risk of harm from COVID-19 are able to access their jabs as soon as possible.”
