After expressing concern over the recent temporary closure of Llangernyw Post Office, Clwyd West MS Darren Millar has welcomed news this week that services in the village shop are to resume on a part-time basis.
The Llangernyw post office branch was forced to close on Monday 9 November 2020 due to the resignation of the Postmaster.
A temporary mobile service was established, however last week Darren expressed concerned at the limited number of hours it was available.
He is therefore pleased that an improved temporary service is being provided.
He said:
“I am delighted to hear that the Post Office service in the shop in Llangernyw will resume on a part time basis from next week. The service will be open between 1.30 pm and 4.30pm every Tuesday, and 12.30pm and 3.30 every Thursday.
“Whilst it still isn’t ideal and I look forward to the Post Office reopening fully, this improved temporary provision will mean residents will at least have access to post office services locally.”
The temporary service will continue until the Post Office has completed its recruitment process for a new postmaster.
