Clwyd West MS Darren Millar has welcomed news that two community groups in his constituency can further the support they provide to residents thanks to National Lottery funding.
Since August, a total of £19,700 has been awarded in Clwyd West from the National Lottery Community Fund. Mind Conwy has received £9,700, whilst Llanfair Dyffryn Clwyd Community Council has received £10,000.
Welcoming the funding for the area, Darren said:
“I am always delighted to hear of groups in my constituency benefitting from this fund.
“The National Lottery Community Fund award grants to grassroots projects, as well as making larger awards to tackle big social issues such as improving mental health and tackling homelessness.
“Llanfair Dyffryn Clwyd Community Council in Denbighshire will use their grant of £10,000 to renovate a green space for the community to enjoy, whilst Conwy Mind will use the £9,700 grant they have been allocated to deliver a series of mindfulness courses for people with mild to moderate mental health conditions, with priority places given to people on low incomes.
“I congratulate both groups on their successful applications and wish them well going forward.”
