A community organisation which started two years ago with just six members and a belief that they could make a difference, is going from strength to strength and helping people in need along the North Wales Coast.
The Humming Bird Project North Wales CIC is a not for profit organisation based in Abergele which works with statutory and voluntary partners to support families and individuals as and when required.
On October 12th they officially opened their Hub in the heart of Abergele.
Clwyd West MS Darren Millar has praised all they are doing to support people who are struggling after visiting the Hub last week.
He said:
“It was a real pleasure to visit the Hummingbird Project Hub and to learn more about how they are supporting people in need along the North Wales coast.
“They have been working from their homes for the last 17 months, so were pleased to find a base which enables them to keep donated items until they are needed. Their service is a referral only, not a drop-in, and having their own premises also means they have a place to welcome professionals looking for goods for people they support.
“What they have created in a short time is extremely impressive and I thank them all for the work they are doing and encourage people to donate.
“Their needs list changes every week as they are sourcing items as people require them. Currently they need working mobile phones, warm coats, single bedding, and new hot water bottles.”
People wishing to donate items should check their Facebook Page for opening times. https://www.facebook.com/groups/986874828836967/
