Following the leaking of a report which alleges false accounting and the falsification of documents at the Betsi Cadwaladr University Heath Board, Clwyd West MS Darren Millar has called on North Wales Police to undertake an investigation into its findings.
After viewing a copy of the report, Darren has written to the Chief Constable of North Wales Police, Amanda Blakeman, urging the force to carry out a criminal investigation into the matter.
Darren said:
“The report was anonymously shared with me and it makes for eyewatering reading; its findings are serious and cannot be ignored.
“The report’s authors allege false accounting, the falsification of documents, and the deliberate awarding of sizeable public sector contracts and purchases without due process and in collusion with suppliers.
“Given that false accounting and fraud are criminal offences, it is imperative that North Wales Police should undertake a thorough criminal investigation into these matters.”
