Speaking ahead of a Welsh Conservative debate on the coronation in the Senedd on Wednesday, Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for the Constitution, Darren Millar MS said:
“I want to extend my hearty congratulations to Their Majesties The King and Queen Consort on the occasion of their coronation this weekend.
“The monarchy is hugely popular here in Wales and I know that many will be celebrating at events and in homes across the nation. Wales has a special bond with King Charles III, who served our nation for over 64 years as Prince of Wales – a title he held for longer than anyone else in our history.
“It is wonderful to see Wales at the heart of the coronation, with the procession at Westminster Abbey led by the Cross of Wales, and the service featuring music by Welsh composers and musicians, and the sound of the Welsh harp.
“King Charles has been a wonderful ambassador for Wales over many decades and I trust that he will continue to serve us with diligence for decades to come.
“God Save The King!”
