Clwyd West MS Darren Millar was put in the hot seat to answer an array of questions on climate change issues ranging from flooding to renewable energy when he visited a Colwyn Bay school last week.
Darren visited St Joseph’s Primary School for a session on Climate Change with pupils in Year 7.
The children wrote to Darren some weeks ago after they had been learning about climate change, so Darren offered to meet with them to discuss the subject and answer their questions.
Following the visit, Darren said:
“I was very pleased to hear that the children at St Joseph’s had been learning about climate change and was keen to meet them to discuss the subject with them.
“I was extremely impressed by their in-depth knowledge on a wide range of climate change issues, they have clearly been taught well. We discussed flooding, recycling, renewable energy, the impact of climate change on wildlife and a whole lot more, and they asked me a variety of impressive questions.
“Climate change is a global emergency which requires a global response and I am so encouraged that children are taking such a keen interest in one of the most important challenges that we find ourselves facing.
“I would like to thank everyone at the school for their warm welcome, and the headteacher and all teaching staff for ensuring their pupils are well educated about climate change.”
