Clwyd West MS Darren Millar is delighted than projects in Conwy and Denbighshire continue to benefit from National Lottery Funding, with a further two receiving grants in the past month.

Since the start of the current Senedd term in 2016, the National Lottery Community Fund has awarded a total of £2.98 million of funding in Clwyd West to support 84 local community projects, with these grants ranging from as much as £932,766 awarded to the local British Red Cross, to as little as £850 for Clwb Cemig.

In the past month a further £13,000 of National Lottery funding has been awarded by the National Lottery Community Fund.

Welcoming the news, Darren said;

“It is absolutely fantastic that so many projects in Clwyd West have benefitted from National Lottery Funding in the past five years.

“We have many great organisations and groups across Conwy and Denbighshire which provide vital services to local communities and this funding has been instrumental in enabling them to continue with and expand upon this work.  

“The latest recipients are Menter Bro Aled Cyf  and Conwy Connect for Learning Disabilities.

“Menter Bro Aled Cyf have received a grant of £8,000 to carry out improvements to their public toilets located at the centre of the village which are well used by the community.

“Whilst Conwy Connect for Learning Disabilities have received £5,0000 to continue the Makaton Choir to enable members to increase their confidence, feel safe, and listened to.

“We are currently still living in challenging times and this funding will go a long way to supporting communities during this tough period.”
