Clwyd West MS Darren Millar has welcomed news that Llangernyw Post Office will be reopening next month.

The village branch was forced to close on November 9th 2020 due to the resignation of the Postmaster.

A temporary mobile service was established, however Darren was concerned at the limited number of hours it was available.

He is therefore pleased that Post office Ltd have announced that a new postmaster has been identified to operate Llangernyw Post Office and it is scheduled to reopen on Thursday 15th April.

Darren said:

“This is fantastic news. Although, temporary arrangements were put in place following the closure of the Post Office in November, they were not ideal and I am therefore very pleased that a normal service is set to resume in just a few weeks’ time, offering a wide range of Post Office products and services, with longer opening hours.

“I thank Post Office Ltd for safeguarding this vital facility in the village and wish Nikki and Chris every success in taking on this important new role.”  

The new opening hours are 08:00 – 13:30 and 14:30 – 17:00 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and 08:00 – 13:30 on Wednesday and Saturday.
