Clwyd West MS Darren Millar received a chilly welcome in the form of delicious ice-cream when he visited an award winning business in Denbighshire last week.
Darren visited Chilly Cow Ice Cream in Llanychan on Friday, a family business which makes award winning, artisan ice cream using fresh milk from the Brown Swiss cows on their farm which is near Ruthin.
During his visit, Darren met with Anna Taylor (Creator and Founder) and Harriet Hayto (Ice Cream Creator) to learn more about the company and their recent move into a new premises on the farm in May following an expansion of the business
Darren said:
“It is always a pleasure to visit businesses in my constituency and to hear of their success.
“Established in 2014, Chilly Cow has gone from strength to strength each year and although still a small business, it is well established in North Wales and loved by locals and visitors alike.
“The business is committed to the community and local trade, supporting local businesses and charities where possible and being an active member of The Clwydian Range Food and Drink Group – which promotes other local producers, businesses and our fantastic landscape and area.
“During my visit, I had a look around the new facility and saw some of the new equipment they’ve invested in to help grow the business further. I was also treated to samples of some of their delicious, top-secret, new flavours!
“I took some ice cream to the office from the Honesty Box by the farm gate (open from 11am daily) which was set up during the pandemic and has been a huge hit with locals.
“It is important that we all support our local businesses, particularly in these challenging times, so if you haven’t already tried this award winning ice-cream, I encourage you all to give it a go.”
