Clwyd West MS Darren Millar is calling on residents to get behind his campaign urging Conwy County Borough Council to scrap one-way plans for Rhos-on-Sea promenade.
The Council is seeking to introduce a one-way system along the bottom of the Cayley Embankment on Rhos on Sea promenade as part of its proposals to improve the sea front.
If implemented, the one-way proposals will result in thousands of vehicles travelling up the embankment and more traffic driving through residential parts of Rhos-on-Sea, causing chaos and disruption for local residents.
In a bid to put an end to the plans, Darren has launched a petition and is urging people to sign it.
He said:
“There is strong opposition against these proposals, which quite frankly would cause traffic chaos in Rhos-on-Sea.
“By signing this petition, residents and businesses can send a clear message to the council that they simply don’t want this one-way system.
“The council has already amended its plans once following opposition to demolish popular kiosks as part of the scheme, so hopefully they will consider the views of residents once again and scrap the one-way system plans which would cause inconvenience to both locals and visitors alike.”
