Clwyd West MS Darren Millar has criticised the fact that North Wales has been left out of a sport and culture events trial in Wales to manage the return of audiences as Covid restrictions ease.
Darren has welcomed the pilot scheme which will involve sporting matches, festivals and theatre events having live crowds, but is concerned that all the trials will take place in South Wales.
He said:
“There are nine trial events on the list and every single one of them are in South Wales, with the people of North Wales missing out yet again.
“Just like people in South Wales, they have greatly missed being able to attend live events during the pandemic and I cannot see why they too could not have benefited from this pilot with trials also taking place here in North Wales.
“For years the people of North Wales have been ignored by the Welsh Government and it seems that as we begin the sixth term of them being in power this continues to be the case.
“I will be raising this with the First Minister and demanding an explanation as to why North Wales has once again been overlooked.”
