Commenting on the latest damming report regarding services at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health board, Shadow Minister for North Wales, Darren Millar MS said:
“It’s no wonder that the NHS in North Wales is in such turmoil and that the failings in the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board have gone on for so long.
“The NHS in North Wales needs an executive team that is focused on delivering improvements in patient care and preventing people coming to harm, not one that is rowing with itself or afraid of scrutiny.
“The Welsh Government must urgently intervene to ensure a total clear out of this dysfunctional executive team, without the eyewatering payoffs we’ve seen in the past, and support the chair of the Health Board to appoint a new and capable team as soon as possible.”
Also commenting, Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for Health, Russell George MS said:
“Sadly, this is the quality of services the people of Wales are coming to expect after a quarter of a century of successive Labour-led Governments that have run our NHS into the ground, resulting in record breaking NHS waiting lists and ever worsening ambulance response times.
“While Ministers in Cardiff Bay waste their time and money on more politicians in Cardiff Bay, it is the people of Wales who are paying the price for Labour’s failures on our Welsh NHS.
“Labour need to get to grips with the health service in Wales, put the people’s priorities first, and stop breaking all the wrong records.”
