Clwyd West MS Darren Millar has welcomed a new volunteer role to help look after and promote the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and is encouraging people to sign up.
Volunteer Rangers are being sought to help take care of the AONB and to inspire others about the land.
By taking the volunteer role, you can become an ambassador for the AONB, share your love and knowledge of the area, inspire local people and visitors alike and help take care of this special place.
Darren said:
“We are extremely fortunate to have this incredible AONB on our doorstep. The natural environment is crucial to the Welsh economy and it is vital it is protected and managed as effectively and efficiently as possible to ensure the best outcomes for Wales,
“Having volunteer rangers in place is an excellent idea and I encourage people who are passionate about the outdoors and nature to put themselves forward.”
The rangers will be expected to commit to at least a couple of days a month, either on weekends or during the week, and must enjoy meeting new people, as they will meet and engage with members of the public sharing information and answering questions, and walking popular routes well-used by visitors.
If you are 18 and over, able to travel and interested in becoming a volunteer ranger please contact Ceri Lloyd via email [email protected] or phone 01824712757.
