Clwyd West MS Darren Millar has praised volunteers who raised funds for CAFOD’s Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal by holding a coffee morning event which he attended.
Volunteers at St Joseph's Catholic Primary School in Colwyn Bay put their baking skills to the test to raise funds for the appeal.
The all-day cake sale on Friday (March 25) raised £720 and brought dozens of generous community members to the parish centre on Brackley Avenue, which was bedecked with Ukrainian flags and sunflowers created by the children of the school.
Darren said:
“It was a great event and I thank all those involved for all their efforts and congratulate them on raising £720..
“We have all been touched by the event in Ukraine and are keen to help in anyway we can.
“The team at St Joseph’s showed how simple it can be to generate much needed funds to support those fleeing Ukraine.”
