Clwyd West MS Darren Millar has applauded a Denbighshire project which is supporting residents in the county who are experiencing struggles or difficulties relating to their home.
Darren met Nickkie Taylor from Shelter Cymru this week to hear more about the ‘My Home Denbighshire’ scheme, an early intervention project which aims to work ‘upstream’ offering support and guidance to ensure people in difficulty get the right support.
The scheme supports a wide range of needs that, if left unmanaged, could start to spiral out of control, eventually putting the resident at risk of becoming homeless. By providing the necessary help and support needed, at the earliest given opportunity, they can prevent people from ever having to think about homelessness.
Darren said:
“It was good to meet with Nickkie and to learn more about the help and support My Home Denbighshire is providing to people across the county.
“The scheme is a joint initiative between Shelter Cymru, Clwyd Alyn and Warm Wales and provides help on a wide range of issues such as housing, finances, benefits, employment, education and training, well-being, health and relationships.
“I would encourage anyone experiencing any difficulties to get in touch.
“People can make an online referral to the My Home Denbighshire project for themselves or on behalf of someone else, or email one of their advisers.
