Clwyd West MS Darren Millar visited Ruthin based Blazers Fuels last week to meet with company directors and see improvements and investment on the site.
Blazers Fuels, on Brickfield Lane, produces a combined heat a power plant and produces wood pellets for boilers, as well as animal bedding, and other wood fuel products.
During his visit, he met with Richard Errington, Company Director, and Jon Watson, Director of Sales and Marketing.
Speaking afterwards, Darren said:
“There have been difficulties with smoke nuisance from the Blazers Fuels site in the past so I recently met with the business to hear more about the investment on the site and the action the team is taking is taking to improve community relationships.
“I was very impressed to see the efforts which the business has made to improve the management and invest on the site since my last visit. The business is thriving, new jobs are being created and complaints from residents have reduced significantly.”
The pellets produced by Blazers Fuels are used in domestic pellet boilers and stoves, as well as schools, hotels, supermarkets, banks and commercial buildings. The business also produces fuel logs, which are made from 100% wood, create no sparks or spitting, are environmentally friendly, burn hotter and heat quicker than chopped logs and create less tar, which results in cleaner chimneys.
Darren added:
“Given the increases we have seen in fuel prices in recent years, it is good to see a local company producing such quality, real fuel.”
A spokesperson for the company said:
“It was good to welcome Darren back to our site and to fill him in about our latest work.
“For over 20 years householders and business owners nationwide have trusted us to heat their homes, factories and offices. Here at Blazers we make fuels out of 100% virgin British wood residue from sawmill activity and nothing else, no glues, no chemicals, or additives. What is even better, is that all our wood comes from Sawmills right here in the UK, so is 100% British.”
