Clwyd West MS Darren Millar has praised a centre which is providing support for families in all areas of family life after visiting the team there last week to learn more about the work they carry out.
Canolfan Dinorben Family Centre is based in the former Ysgol Emrys ap Iwan Foundation school building and was officially opened in 2019
The centre is part of Conwy County Borough Council’s community based support for families. It’s open for all families to use, and offers activities, advice and support; with family workers, health visitors, youth services and others on hand to help.
On Friday, Darren visited the centre and met with staff to find out more about how they are supporting local families.
Following his visit, he said:
“As we all know being part of a family is lovely, but it is not without its challenges and everyone can benefit from support at times.
“The centre is a wonderful facility in the local community and is well used.
“The team provide support for families through: access to information and advice, groups that are open for anyone to attend, targeted groups and courses, one to one support from a Family Worker, and access to other specialist support
“The Family Support Team based at Canolfan Dinorben serves communities in the east of Conwy (Kinmel Bay, Towyn, Abergele, Llanefydd, Llanfairtalhaearn, and Llansannan).
“It was great to meet with the team who are providing such a vital service and I thank them for inviting me to visit, and for the fantastic work they are doing.”
